Being invited to do this show was exciting in and of itself for me. This being my first show, I got to learn so much about what it takes to be a (solo!) hair stylist for a theatre production! Doing the brainstorming with the director for the looks of the characters was fantastic and it was really fun to fantasize about where the style of the show could go. Styling the wigs pre-show and seeing that vision begin to form was exciting. Hair styling for the ensemble was also a lot of fun and a lot of work. Wigging cast members, assisting during quick changes, fixing things on the fly while making sure that the hair was secure and comfortable was a huge focus for me. This first show as definitely taught me the stamina, drive and passion it takes to be in this field and it helped validate that I made the right choice in jumping in with both feet.
